Which paddling disciplines do you compete in? Eg. Surfski, river marathon, flat-water marathon, flat water sprint, S.U.P etc:
Canoe Sprint, Surfski, Surf Lifesaving, Canoe Marathon and SUP

Favourite race, why?
Gorge Downwind Champs, because it’s fun and so easy to get lots of downwinds in!

What about paddling keeps you paddling?
I love the challenge of the sport across all it’s disciplines. Each discipline has a unique skill set that could take years to master. You can race between Tahitian Islands in the South Pacific, or down a sprint course in Hungary at 140 strokes a minute. I love the people in the sport and the places we travel. Best sport on the planet.

Were (or are you) a champ at any other sport?
I was a Division 1 Swimmer at the University of California at Santa Barbara. I’ve been on the US Surf Lifesaving National Team 6 times as a swimmer, board paddler and Ironwoman.

Why paddling above other sports?
The community of padders around the world can’t be beat; they are hard working amazing athletes that enjoy life. Its not often that a kid can line up next to a World Champion or Olympian at a local race.

Greatest paddling achievement ( or top 3!)
2016 Olympic Qualification
2015 World Championships (Canoe Sprint) Bronze Medal K1 1000
2016 World Cup (Canoe Sprint) Silver Medal K1 5000
2015 World Champs (surfski) 6th place

Most memorable life achievement outside of paddling?
Michele and I started a new business called Paddle California:)

What is your favourite MOCKE product, why?
The PFD! It’s comfortable and has enough room for safety equipment, hydration and snacks.
