Name + Age:

Nikki Mocke, 35 years

Occupation:

Administrator at Chalford Wealth Management and Mom

Years paddling:

20 years (Wow! Time flies when you’re having fun)

Which paddling disciplines do you compete in? Eg. Surfski, river marathon, flat-water marathon, flat water sprint, S.U.P etc:

I have competed in all except SUP. These days I just do Surfski races and a few rivers

Favourite race, why?

Anything with downwind, Its what surfski paddling is all about. Skill, adventure, endurance and fun!

What about paddling keeps you paddling?

The friends, the ocean and the thrill of it. Plus, every day is a good day to paddle! Flat, windy, big swell it’s all amazing.

Were (or are you) a champ at any other sport?

Figure skating 🙂

Why paddling above other sports?

I get to sit down and race! Kidding. I love that it’s in the ocean, and the elements as well as fitness play a part. You always get to be at the beach no matter where you race in the world and the people are all like-minded adventurous, friendly people.

Greatest paddling achievement ( or top 3!)

World Champion Round the cans title at the World Inter-club Lifesaving champs in Italy in 2004. World Junior Marathon Champs in 1998. World Marathon Champs K2 Bronze medalist with Michele Eray 2007. Beijing Olympics 7th place, K4 500m 2008.

Most memorable life achievement outside of paddling:

Marrying my true love (2002) and having 2 children (2009 and 2012)

What is your favourite MOCKE product, why?

The PFD because it’s comfortable and cool. Not only cool looking but cool as in not hot! I also love the pockets so I can fit my dry bag, and spares.
